Brief Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

 1. Assumes responsibility for the effective and professional performance of Financial Service Representative and Member Service Representative.

  • Represents the Credit Union in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Processes all member transactions efficiently and accurately while following Credit Union procedures to prevent fraud and loss of Credit Union assets. 
  • Provide new and existing members with a variety of services such as opening and closing accounts, processing personal & auto loan applications and disbursements, IRA account opening and maintenance, opening, closing and renewing certificates of deposit, opening and closing safe deposit boxes, resolving member issues and providing general account information and maintenance. Responsible for scanning required member account documents into members’ account records.
  • Follows proper MSR and FSR balancing procedures at the end of the shift, verifying that system totals match and cash received or disbursed has been accounted for.
  • Follows proper procedure for resolving out of balance positions, including matching transaction slips to computer totals and verifying any cash transactions performed.
  •  Identifies member needs and provides appropriate solutions utilizing the tools of the Member Advocacy Program, including Needs Assessment Forms, Cash Flow charts and Credit Reports.
  • Responsible for assisting members who are identified either by the Financial Service Staff or through their own member contact as having more complex financial situations that are preventing them from achieving financial success. This may be done by reviewing credit reports and cash flows and working with the members to help them in achieving their financial goals. 
  • Answers member telephone calls and responds to member inquiries and questions or directs them as necessary Responds to member emails and phone messages in a timely manner. Checks Organization emails regularly throughout the day and responds to internal voice and e- mail messages within a reasonable time period.
  • Performs all duties while maintaining a strict level of member confidentiality.      
  • Assists with all department responsibilities such as scanning, maintaining department supplies, covering the reception area, assisting members with safe deposit access, performing functions required to open or close the  lobby area prior to and at the close of the business day, keeping the department and lobby area clean and well organized.
  •  Maintains security of confidential member personal information. Daily shredding of all confidential member information that is no longer required.
  • Fills in at other branches when required by business needs.        
  • Has excellent knowledge of all Credit Union Products and Services. Periodically reviews WCCU PEAK Manual and all WCCU policies and procedures.
  • Has working knowledge of all State and Federal regulations as they relate to retail Branch operations.

 

 2. Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective, professional business relations with members.

  • Resolves member requests and questions promptly and courteously.
  • Keeps members informed of Credit Union services and policies.
  • Maintains and projects the Credit Union's professional reputation. 
  • Assists all credit union staff in developing and strengthening new and existing member relationships.

 3. Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective coordination and working relationships with area personnel and management.

  • Assists and supports all personnel on the retail floor when required, including the training of new staff.
  • Keeps supervisor informed of area activities and significant problems.
  • Completes required reports and records accurately and promptly.
  • Attends meeting/seminars as required. Completes all assigned on-line courses to enhance job performance and comply with State and Federal Regulations.
  • Supports the Organization in all business initiatives.
  • Supports the Organization with its’ community involvement by participating in sponsored or approved activities.
  • Assists the Branch in growing its membership and achieving branch goals.
  • Has knowledge of and promotes all current marketing promotions.

               

 4.Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.

Requirements

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:           High school graduate or equivalent.

                 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:

Thorough knowledge of member services and products provided.

                 

                 

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

 

One to three years of experience as a Financial Services Representative or equivalent.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:             

Excellent communication and public relations skills.

                 

Professional appearance, dress, and attitude.

                 

Ability to operate department related computer applications and equipment.

                 

Solid math and basic accounting skills.
